STREET FAYRE 2018

Alma Vale Street Fayre 2018

Street Fayre 2018 smallest

The Alma Vale Street Fayre returns to Alma Vale Road for an all-day party with games, music and more for all ages!
We'll be raising funds to support Full Reach Children's Projects (more information below) through competitions and donations, and we're inviting everyone to come out, have fun, and support a great cause!

FOOD & DRINK
We'll be cooking up some delicious dishes on the BBQ, with an outdoor bar generously stocked with the best ales Bristol Beer Factory has to offer. Inside, we'll of course have our extensive selection of drinks as well as some tasty menu treats, including some bangin' bar snacks and pizza by the slice!

MUSIC
We've got some great acts to get the street dancing...
In the early afternoon, we'll have some chilled-out acoustic sets to start the day, then after 4pm we'll kick things up a gear and really get the party started.
The afternoon will kick off with some chill acoustic guitar from local legend Peter John, whose dreamy vibes will be the perfect opener to the day.
Then we've got the awesome Mandalorian - Band (eagle-eyed audience members may recognise a particular barman behind the mic...) injecting some classic acoustic rock n' roll into the day. These aren't your usual pub covers - expect some Mandalorian magic to get the afternoon buzzing!
We've also got the brilliant Ish Kabibble, a "splendidly eclectic swing concoction" to get your toes a-tapping and your knees a-knocking!
Our headliners this year are The Rin Tins - high octane gypsy swing with swing jazz rhythms and pounding oompa beats to really bring the party!
Space for dancing will of course be available - and highly encouraged!
Set times below!

DOG SHOW
Our Alma Pups Dog Show returns! Bring your preened pooches to compete in such nail-biting rounds as "Waggiest Tail", "Doggy Fashion Show" and "Pawbedience", from 2pm.
£2 entry per round (all proceeds to charity), with prizes for both you and your pup!
We're delighted to have prizes from Alfie & Bella and Doggo's For Days, who have generously contributed to the event.

KIDS AREA
Our kids area this year will be located in the front garden of the historic All Saints Church.
We'll have games, toys, kids entertainers Sharky and George, fun and education from Sounds Right Phonics Bristol, workshops from Quirky Bird Theatre and storytelling for the little'uns, keeping them distracted and providing some respite for the grownups. Teas and coffees will be available inside the church for hard-working designated adults!
Although the area will be monitored at all times, we do ask that children are not left unattended.

LATE NIGHT COMEDY
From 8.30pm, our house comedy team Blue Mustard Comedy will be continuing the fun with free stand-up in the bar. Guaranteed hilarity!
Our headliner for the evening is Paul Ricketts, with MC duties from the inimitable Richard James. Support acts announced soon!

RAFFLE
We've teamed up with some amazing local businesses to offer some excellent raffle prizes! Details of what's up for grabs will be posted soon, with all proceeds going to our wonderful charity.

MARKET STALLS
Some of our wonderful neighbours will be bringing their shops onto the street, plus we'll welcome local crafters, makers, bakers and more.
We'll have artwork and designs from Jemma Davies: Illustration and Designand jewellery from Eily O Connell, the local Clifton WI will have a full spread of homemade cakes, jams and more, Traidcraft from All Saints Church will be providing various fair trade and sustainable goodies, and Friends of Redland Library will be on hand with books and news from the library!

CHARITY
This year we are supporting the wonderful Full Reach Children's Projects. Full Reach aims to teach and support vulnerable children through urban art forms, including rap, graffiti and street dance, using these forms to engage and build confidence. Many of these children have severe emotional, social and behavioural issues, have been excluded from mainstream school, have suffered traumatic experiences and may have mental health issues. The long-term goal of Full Reach is to set up a non-profit Children's Home, and through Street Fayre fundraising we hope to help them on this long and difficult journey!
More information can be found at Full Reach Children's Projects, Full Reach Events.
